The Problem of People's Perception

Many consumers of America percieve the new types of genetically altered crops as dangerous, but crops have been modified for decades just through a slower process. This misconception as illustrated in the cartoon (right) holds back the progress and benefits of agricultural biotechnology.

  These perceptions are lesser in the United States compared to Europe making the U.S. a large producer of GMO (genetically modified organisms) crops. This creates careers espeacially in a community founded largly on argiculture, such as here in California.
